Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchciński met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban

The talks in the office of the Speaker of the Sejm were also attended by the Deputy Speakers of the Sejm Ryszard Terlecki and Joachim Brudziński as well as the President of the largest party in the Parliament Jarosław Kaczyński. The topic of the talks was the situation in Europe and in the world as well as the problems that the European Union is struggling with, especially the migration crisis.

Viktor Orban began his first official visit to Poland with a meeting with Prime Minister Beata Szydło. At a joint press conference with the head of the Polish government, he said that "the EU cannot afford to unjustifiably launch some procedures against a member country, or even threaten to launch them. This sounds like some kind of inquisition. Hungary will never agree to this, there is no legal basis for any sanctions against Poland, and what Brussels officials are doing is purely political action that has nothing to do with substance." He confirmed these words during a meeting in the Sejm.

- The Visegrad countries have more than once shown strength by maintaining a common position. It is not true that V4 is ending. On the contrary - we have more and more in common,' Marek Kuchciński, Speaker of the Sejm, said after the meeting. The message coming from the highest Hungarian state authorities confirms the cohesion of our policy.

At yesterday's CEPA forum on enhancing V4 cooperation with the US in Washington, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó admitted that we agree on 8 out of 10 issues.
