Sejm Speaker Marek Kuchcinski inscribed himself in Prime Minister Jan Olszewski's book of condolences:

Gone from us is a man with a noble heart, an advocate of Polish traditions, who remained faithful to the highest values to the end. 

Poland has had few statesmen of such great integrity, courage and wisdom. Boundless service to the Fatherland and devotion to the idea of a democratic state will remain a commitment for us.

Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister, for everything you have done for Poland and the Poles.
