On February 22, scouts around the world celebrate their holiday. Brotherly Thought Day was created to commemorate the anniversary of the birth of the founders of scouting - Robert Baden-Powell, Chief Scout of the World, and his wife Olave Baden-Powell, Chief Scout of the World. The Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchciński expressed his appreciation for the Polish Scouting Association. In a letter addressed to the authorities of the organization he wrote:
This special time encourages us to reflect on the beautiful ideals of the scouting movement, as well as provides an opportunity to strengthen the bonds between its members. Fellowship
and friendship unite many of you. So let us remind ourselves of the importance of these wonderful relationships that make our lives better and fuller.
Today I would like to express my great appreciation for the entire organization. Gathering in its ranks many committed people for whom belonging to the scouting fraternity is a source of pride, raising the next generation in the spirit of respect for tradition and values, shapes character, hardens the spirit, and allows you to draw joy from joint action.
The greatest influence on the attitude of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts is exerted by the instructors.
These exceptional figures are a model of conduct and a treasure trove of knowledge. The title "Extraordinary" emphasizes the great merits of your humble service. Special congratulations are addressed to the awardees. Thank you for your commitment, reliability, nobility of conduct and propagation of the good scouting tradition. I wish you good luck and success in your further work as an instructor.
On the Day of Brotherly Thought I wish all scouts to continue serving our Homeland with clear minds, warm hearts and helping hands. I wish you a wonderful celebration and many unforgettable emotions.
My sincere greetings and combined respect.
