Within the framework of the governmental program Apartment for Development an agreement between the city of Przemysl and the National Property Stock was signed. The first investment will be apartments on Bakończycka Street.
Five years ago, when we launched the Flat Plus programme, we were guided by the conviction that the most important thing for most Poles, especially young people, was a job and their own home. We have managed to significantly improve conditions on the labour market and now it is our turn to support housing. - Marek Kuchciński said. - Our estimates show that Podkarpackie voivodeship needs about 80 thousand apartments. Two years ago, in Przemyśl, we started to plan the implementation of the program, and today we are putting it into effect - added the Marshal.
The Sejm has adopted changes to the law to help both those who rent an apartment and those who would like to buy one but cannot afford a loan.
The social part of the housing package prepared by the MRPiT is intended to provide a developmental boost to the economy weakened by COVID-19. Its main tenets are:
- Rent subsidies for subtenants of apartments,
- Increase the availability of rental housing for low-income people,
- Improve housing conditions in existing units,
- TBS rent vacation,
- The possibility of reaching ownership in newly built housing under the Social Housing Initiatives (SIM) formula,
- support for social housing in its broadest sense, and greater and easier access to land for development,
- Government's 1.5 billion Housing Development Fund to support housing construction for municipalities financially affected by COVID-19,
- Facilities for people who have housing passbooks,
- assistance to tenants economically impacted by COVID-19,
- Digitalization of the construction process.
The ceremony was attended by: Michal Cieślak, Minister in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, for Local Government Development, MP Teresa Pamuła, MP Tadeusz Chrzan, Deputy Marshal of the Post-Carpathian Voivodeship Piotr Pilch, President of Przemyśl Wojciech Bakun and Deputy President of KZN Michał Sroka.
