This year the Mountain Volunteer Rescue Service and the Tatra Mountains Volunteer Rescue Service will receive additional funds, nearly 4 million PLN from the Ministry of Interior and Administration. Thanks to these funds, an overhaul of the W-3A Sokół helicopter, used for rescue operations by TOPR, will be completed and rescue units will gain several new jobs. The subsidy will also cover the cost of renting the RECCO system by GOPR and additional current costs related to maintaining readiness for rescue actions in GOPR. During the meeting there was also discussed with the representatives of GOPR and TOPR a proposal of granting the rescuers pension allowances on similar basis as the firefighters from the Volunteer Fire Brigades. In the Ministry's proposal they were defined as a monthly additional pension in the amount of 1/14 of the lowest salary.
