Some fit in the palm of your hand and their sound resembles raindrops smashing against a windowpane. Others with their size, majesty and dignified voice arouse admiration of passers-by and put to shame the surrounding monuments.
The bells of Przemysl are undoubtedly works of art. Each is different, they have their own history and soul. They decorate important places, and sometimes play the leading role. For example, during the Sejm session, no member of parliament stands a chance against the Marshal's bell. The ear-piercing sound of the bell, vibrated by the Marshal's hand, is hypnotic.
The clear sound of the bell announces prosperity and well-being. It is no coincidence that the bell has become a symbol of the Polish Parliament's Presidency of Hungary. The Visegrad bell was cast in an intimate bell workshop, the bronze workshop in Przemysl. This unfortunately vanishing craft usually brings to life extremely laborious objects. The bell is made in several stages - a project must be created, a form consisting of a core, false bell and cap, cast in plaster, decorated with wax, another clay form made... It requires the hand of an artist and craftsman. The bell is made of bronze, an alloy of bronze and tin, and fired in a furnace at 1600 degrees.
The Visegrad Bell was presented in Royal Cracow by the Polish Presidency to the Hungarian Presidency in praise of the V4 cooperation,
in the conviction that the voice of the bell always rings out most beautifully in the space created by noble people, boldness of actions, far-sightedness of vision,
in the conviction that Europe plays an important role in the world and the Visegrad Group plays an important role in Europe and the European Union,
in the name of respect for the achievements of the past,
in the name of best service to the future,
Let the Visegrad Bell ring out the achievements of successive presidencies with its clear sound.
