The celebration of 60 years of Bieszczady Mountains Volunteer Mountain Rescue Service, during which rescuers intervened nearly 23 thousand times, was held in Wetlin. It is not a coincidence that the former Speaker of the Sejm, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the parliamentary team for mountain rescue service (for 20 years the member) Marek Kuchciński was invited to the ceremony. For many years the MP from Podkarpacie has been involved in supporting young people, he is the patron of Podkarpacie ski league or competitions for the Carpathian Cup in alpine and cross-country skiing. He himself, whenever there is a chance, puts on skis. However, Kuchciński does not prefer raked slopes. He is passionate about breathtaking views, unusual places and long skiing expeditions. He has been friends with goprowacki for years.
- Two days ago Europa Karpat ended in Karpacz, but we stay in the mountains. From the mountains you can sometimes see a little better and from a greater distance. The mountains toughen the body and spirit, open the mind, make us more sensitive. But mountains are also an element, a power which we do not stand a chance against. Not everyone can afford such great commitment to face them in the most difficult moments - when the battle for human life is on. Today, on the occasion of 60th anniversary of Bieszczady GOPR Group I would like to express my appreciation and respect for your passion and dedication. Thanks to you we can explore mountains and come back home safe and sound - said Marek Kuchciński.
