This is the 30th anniversary of Andy Warhol's death. It is worth mentioning this artist not only because of the novelty, diversity of his work and the dizzying price his paintings reach, but also because of his roots. Warhol was the son of Lemkos from the Polish-Slovakian borderland, from the village of Mikova near Sanok. The part of Slovakia where he grew up formed the Polish-Hungarian borderland before World War II. The precursor of pop-art is therefore a great artistic showcase of the Visegrad Group.
