In accordance with the tradition of several years, on 1 June 2011 another, already the seventeenth session of the Children and Youth Parliament was held at the Sejm. It was organized by the Chancellery of the Sejm in cooperation with the Center for Citizenship Education Foundation, the Project: Poland Foundation, and the Ministry of National Education. The topic of this year's Session "Volunteering for active citizenship" referred to the decision of the Council of the European Union to designate 2011 as the European Year of Voluntary Activities Promoting Active Citizenship. The session was co-chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the Polish Parliament Marek Kuchciński.
