74th Anniversary of the Revealing of the Katyń Crime

Katyn Victims Remembrance Day falls on the anniversary of the publication by the German Transocean Agency of the first information about the discovery of mass graves of Polish officers.

At the highest level of the Russian government - Stalin, Beria, Merkulov, and Rajohman - a decision was made in March 1940 to murder the prisoners held in the camps at Kozelsk, Starobelsk, and Ostashkov as declared enemies of the Soviet power and showing no hope of improvement. A month later, the liquidation of the camps began.

Over 20,000 Polish officers, the elite of Polish society, were murdered in the name of a sick policy. For years, the Russians did not admit to this crime, and in communist Poland, speaking about it threatened repression. This crime, which is genocide, war crime, crime against humanity still remains unaccounted for.
