September 11, 1777 During the Battle of the Brandywine, American General Casimir Pulaski saved the life of George Washington, the American president.
Casimir Pulaski is one of the greatest commanders of the Bar Confederation and a hero of the American War of Independence. Dozens of cities, bridges, streets and parks in the USA are named after him.
