During the New Year's-Eve supper meeting in Rzeszów Marek Kuchciński, Speaker of the Sejm, summed up the last year. He emphasized that out of 20 most important postulates from the election campaign, most have been realized. As the most important he enumerated the 500 plus program, free medicines for seniors, lowering of the retirement age, introduction of a tax-free sum, a minimum hourly rate of 12 PLN and sealing of VAT.
The Speaker of the Sejm noted that Podkarpacie has become a model for others, since 2005 it has received the best results for Law and Justice, and the current support for the party exceeds 71 percent, while for the President - 75 percent, which means that if elections were held today, Law and Justice would win all parliamentary and senatorial seats. - It is important to cooperate with communities that think and speak about Poland similarly to us, such as farmers, Catholics, veterans, or the great mass of youth," he argued.
- Last year was a year of very intensive work - said the Speaker. - Parliament adopted over 300 legal acts and 220 laws, which is part of good implementation of the program to repair Poland.
Referring to the recent events in the Sejm, he assured that the time will come to draw consequences, to judge fairly for breaking the rules. He stressed, however, that this should be done prudently and firmly.
