Pacławska Calvary, Krasiczyn and the Landscape Park of the Przemyskie Foothills - timeless beauty that we must protect

In a few days, an international conference "Carpathian Europe" in Krynica. Together with "old" friends, in the beautiful August weather, we collected and discussed the material for the next activities aimed at the protection of ancient monuments and ancient nature.

With Prof. Jerzy Piórecki, creator of the Physiography Department of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Bolestraszyce Arboretum, Janusz Czarski, director of the Cultural Center in Przemysl, and Andrzej Mazur, former expert of the Polish Academy of Sciences, currently writing about the ecopolitics of Przemysl with the areas of the planned Turnicki National Park, we went to Paclawska Calvary. The historic Kalwaria Sanctuary is celebrating the 350th anniversary of its foundation. This popular pilgrimage site stretching over several kilometers is open to tourists, there is a several-meter-high wooden observation tower. Hiking trails lead from there to the Kalwaria Poloniny and further to the Arłamowskie Mountains.

O. Gwardian presents us with the program of the celebrations, inviting us to the solemn concert of the Podkarpacie Philharmonic Orchestra. Prof. Jerzy Piórecki guides us through the monastery park with original specimens of over 100 years old lime trees, yew trees and a natural phenomenon in our climate - a Japanese maple. Together with tourists we watch and admire impressive panoramas of the Przemyskie Foothills and the Ukrainian part of the Carpathians.

After Kalwaria, at the professor's suggestion, we went to Kniażyce. We became acquainted with an almost 100-year-old wooden church connected with the Pawlikowski family, with unique paintings by Lela Pawlikowska "Matka Boska Zielna" and Juliusz Studnicki "St. Jan Gwalbert".

Outdoor nature lesson - admiring beautiful landscapes, history of planting historic tree stands. Lesson of regional history. Lesson on possibilities of further conservation of cultural objects.

Will Turnicki National Park be created? And if so - within what borders? Or maybe it should be renamed to Lędziński National Park? Will Kalwaria gain the status of a historical monument and then be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List? Will the Renaissance palace in Krasiczyn, recently listed as a historical monument, also be on the UNESCO list? When will the paintings of Lela Pawlikowska and Juliusz Stadnicki be made available to the public? How to protect unique natural and cultural objects?
