Via Carpatia - a great opportunity for Poland and Europe

Via Carpatia is an opportunity for the Podkarpackie region, but also for the whole of Poland and Central and Eastern Europe - said Prime Minister Beata Szydło during the conference "10 years of the Lancut Declaration - Via Carpatia today, challenges for the future" in Lancut. - It is a route that has an extremely important and strategic meaning - she added.

- We want Central and Eastern Europe to open to the world and to develop, because a well-developed Central and Eastern Europe is also a guarantee of greater security of the region. (...) I am convinced that Via Carpatia will be of strategic importance for the European policy - said Prime Minister Szydło.

The Minister of Infrastructure and Construction Andrzej Adamczyk pointed out that the Via Carpatia project is one of the most important in Europe.

- We want the Via Carpatia to be a live issue on the national and European forum. This is one of the most important transport projects for Poland and Europe - he said.

MEP Tomasz Poręba was also present at the conference.

- The Via Carpatia road should be inscribed as strategic in the European Union road network. (...) The financing of this project is assured. We have the support of the governments of the countries around Via Carpatia, European Council and European Parliament. (...) I am convinced that the Via Carpatia road will be built. I thank everyone who contributes to it - he pointed out.

- The Via Carpatia project has finally become a flagship project of the Polish government. It is a huge challenge for Poland, but also a chance to equalize development opportunities - said MEP Poręba.
