Statement on the planned liquidation of the position of medical dispatcher of the Medical Ambulance Service in Przemyśl

We are afraid that liquidation of Medical Dispatcher's Station in the city may be the first stage of ambulance service privatization in Przemysl.

Our suspicions are not unfounded - we encourage the residents of Przemyśl to familiarize themselves with what happened to the public ambulance service in Jaroslaw.

Therefore Law and Justice party in Przemysl expresses its firm objection to the changes made in the positions of dispatchers and medical dispatchers. Liquidation of dispatching in our city means that an injured person will have to call an ambulance service by calling Sanok and the dispatcher will redirect the information to Przemysl.

In case of overloaded telephone lines notification will be answered by dispatcher from Rzeszow or Krosno. We do not agree with justifying the liquidation of the dispatch centre with financial arguments. Ambulance service is an institution which has to work as quickly and effectively as possible in order to save human lives. Practice shows that in serious cases every second counts.

Arguments like: if we move the dispatch centre to Sanok, we will reduce costs, are completely out of place, because human life is more important than money. Ambulance service is not a company which is supposed to bring profits.

Probably moving the dispatch center to another city will increase the time it takes for an ambulance to reach a patient, because it will be necessary to redirect information to the ambulance teams. The existing system is proven so far, is it worth to risk destroying what works well? In our region to protect the health and lives of patients it is necessary to maintain separate dispatching centers in Przemyśl and Sanok.
