Women's movement named after Grazyna Gęsicka was created in Podkarpacie

In the Podkarpacie region about 100 women representing various circles have decided to establish a movement named after Grażyna Gęsicka, said Ewa Draus, former Podkarpacie Governor, who attended the meeting. - The goal of the Grazyna Gesicka Subcarpathian Women's Movement will be to increase women's participation in public life.

 

This applies both to activity in the place of residence or work, as well as at the county, regional and national level", said Draus. She emphasized that Grazyna Gesicka, who will be the patron of the movement, "was an example of active women, taking care of her family, but also active in public life". Gęsicka was a member of the Law and Justice party from the Rzeszów district, she died in the Smolensk catastrophe.

 

During the meeting, a lecture on the situation of women was given by social policy specialist Professor Józefina Hrynkiewicz. Among the signatories of the movement are: the mayor of Jaslo in the previous term Maria Kurowska, former PiS councillor in Przemyśl Lucyna Podhalicz, senator Alicja Zając. Grażyna Gęsicka was a minister of regional development in Law and Justice governments. The meeting, during which the movement was established, was initiated by the Deputy Speaker of the Polish Parliament Marek Kuchcinski.
