The National Museum of the Przemysl Region wants to raise patriotic awareness. Thanks to the received funds it will create, among others, an educational offer for children and youth

Culture Minister Piotr Gliński and Podkarpackie Province Marshal Władysław Ortyl signed an agreement under which, starting from the New Year, the National Museum of the Przemysl Region will be co-managed by the Ministry of Culture and the Podkarpackie Province Local Government. The co-managing entities will provide annual funds in the following amounts: Province - 4 200 000 PLN, Minister KiDN - 1 300 000 PLN.

Marek Kuchciński, Speaker of the Sejm, who has been campaigning for support for the museum for many years, said that Podkarpacie, the land of Przemyśl dating back to the times of the First Polish Republic, stretching from Stryj to Tarnogród or Świlcza outside Rzeszów, are places where a great variety of culture and good traditions of the old Republic emerge. - These are places that 300 or 400 years ago were part of Poland, (...) that attract the attention of scholars and many tourists, people of culture from other parts, not only Europe," he said.

Co-management of the Museum by the two entities will not only allow for better functioning of the institution but will also provide it with appropriate conditions for the widest possible dissemination of knowledge about the region and its importance in the history of Poland.

- This is an extraordinary event in the life of the Museum, which has a 110-year tradition," says Museum Director Jan Jarosz. - It gives us a chance to more fully present the centuries-old history and tradition of the Przemyśl land. The great heritage of the Polish Kresy. It is also an opportunity to create an interesting and complete educational offer for children and young people, which will allow us to raise the next generation of conscious patriots who know the history and cultural heritage of our homeland," concluded Jarosz.
