Speaker Kuchciński: For Poland there is no other political way than to develop cooperation with Germany

Strengthening information policy, cooperation between the Sejm and the Bundestag, and support for Poland in the European Union - these are the main topics of talks between Sejm Speaker Marek Kuchciński and representatives of the German-Polish Parliamentary Group.

- I agree with you, Mr President, that Polish-German cooperation can be one of the fundamental moments of stability for the whole of Europe, not only the European Union," said the Speaker. - The Weimar Triangle can be of great importance in the future - he noted.

The Marshal argued that from a political point of view there is no other way for Poland than strengthening cooperation with Germany. He emphasized that he is interested in breaking stereotypes and renewing the Union, not giving in to another "Brexit". According to the Marshal, changes in the functioning of the EU institutions, strengthening the importance of national parliaments in their relations with the European Commission and the European Parliament, as well as keeping a close eye on those countries, which are located not only in the eastern part of the EU, but also in Europe, are all possible solutions.

Kuchciński argued that cooperation should be based on truth, including historical truth. Chairman Thomas Nord condemned the use of the phrase "Polish death camps. He argued that all members of the group agree on this issue. - This term was used without feeling, without instinct. We are reacting and we will react so that it does not happen again," he said.
