Kuchciński at PiS convention: We will defend Polish interests and Polish land. For us, the Europe of solidary nations is up-to-date.

We believe that it is bad for Poland when representatives of the highest state authorities do not defend Polish interests, although they are obliged to do so by the constitution

- Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchcinski of the Law and Justice party tells the wPolityce.pl portal.

wPolityce.pl: You devoted much space during the Law and Justice convention to the problems of farmers and land sales. Pawel Janocha, a farmer from the Szczecin area, warned against land buyouts by foreigners. Is this a serious problem for Poland?

Marek Kuchcinski: At the current convention, but also many times before, we warned that the Polish law is poorly constructed. The government acts poorly in this matter, so that Polish interests, the interests of Polish farmers and landowners, are not sufficiently protected. This needs to be changed. Mrs. Szydło presented a bill to secure the interests of Polish farmers. This legislation must come into force as soon as possible.

Again, it will turn out that Law and Justice is xenophobic and nationalistic, because it blocks the free flow of property, closes the Polish market to foreign buyers. Are you prepared to defend such decisions?

I expect voices of all kinds of cosmopolitans and internationalists. However, we are very resistant to this. We believe that it is wrong in Poland when representatives of the highest state authorities do not defend Polish interests, although they are obliged to do so by the Constitution.

Today they all assure that they will defend the interests of Poland and Poles. Why should the Law and Justice government be any new quality in this regard?

We will be a new quality in this regard, we will take care of the interests of Poland and Poles. Also for Polish land. This is the obvious. What is wrong is that the current rulers are neglecting the fundamental responsibilities that state authority has. At any time and place in Poland or in Brussels, the most important task of the state authorities is to defend the interests of Poland and Poles and to oppose decisions that are bad for Poland. It is necessary to fight against regulations that are prepared with ill will or in the spirit of cosmopolitanism. From our perspective, the Europe of nations in solidarity is up to date, not what is happening in the EU today.
