Marek Kuchciński, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, took part in the "Alpine-Carpathian Cooperation Forum", which took place on 15th September in Rzeszów.
The event was attended by politicians, local government officials and experts from 10 countries. Meetings and discussions accompanied the fair, which was attended by more than 120 exhibitors presenting their offer, products and opportunities for cooperation.
- We want not only to reach out to the European Union for help, but also to show our economic potential - said Dawid Lasek, the coordinator of the Alpine-Carpathian Cooperation Forum Project. At the same time he added that in underdeveloped mountain regions there is no shortage of problems, that is why the Forum is supposed to search for effective solutions. E.g. some cantons in Switzerland 20, 30 years ago had similar problems, with which Polish self-governments struggle today, so it is worth using their experience.
The Forum was organized thanks to a grant from the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Program. Discussions were accompanied by performances of bands from different countries, artistic shows and competitions.
