400 Years of the Discalced Carmelites in Przemyśl

On October 15, a jubilee mass was celebrated in the church of the Discalced Carmelites in Przemyśl to mark the 400th anniversary of the temple.

For the community of Przemyśl, St. Theresa's Church and monastery were for centuries a place strengthening faith and shaping values. A place which it did not hesitate to defend.

Man lives the continuity of history. This is an essential element of education and at the same time a creative stimulus. This process also applies to the community that is the Order in the Church, and the convent in a given society ("Views of Przemysl" February-March 1991).

To commemorate the founding of the church and monastery by the Podolski voivode and the starost of Przemyśl - Count Marcin Krasicki, the Przemyśl people donated a plaque.

Prof. J. T. Frazik: "The church and the monastery situated in a lofty place were a plastic equivalent of the second dominant of Przemyśl, which was the royal castle, modernized at that time by the efforts of Starosta Krasicki. At the foot of both hills, symbolizing two authorities - divine and royal - lay the city".
