This Sunday an international discussion meeting within the framework of the "Carpathian Europe" cycle will be held. It will be another event devoted to strengthening cooperation between the countries of the Carpathian region. The meetings were initiated by the Polish side: Speaker of the Sejm, Mr. Marek Kuchciński. The debate will be attended by the representatives of parliaments and government administration, as well as a large group of representatives of local governments, the world of science and non-governmental organizations. Thanks to such politically significant and diverse representation the meetings of "Carpathian Europe" constitute an important forum for cooperation of practitioners and experts dealing with the issues of mountain areas development and cross-border cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe.

The upcoming debate will be titled: On the road to responsible development. During the meeting, the participants will discuss interesting Carpathian initiatives, consider new ways of development and seek new forms of European unity.

The debate will be preceded by a skiing competition for persons without PZN license (amateur) called the International Carpathian Cup in Alpine Skiing under the patronage of the Speaker of the Sejm, Marek Kuchciński, and the Presidents of the Parliaments of the Visegrad Group countries. The competition will be organized by the President of Przemyśl in cooperation with the Polish Sejm, the Polish Senate, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Marshal of Podkarpackie Voivodeship and the Eastern Institute. The special guest will be Prime Minister Beata Szydło.

The "Carpathian Europe" series of events was initiated in 2010. It included sessions in Krynica (2011-2016), Przemyśl and Krasiczyn (2011,2012, 2013, 2015) in Ukraine and Hungary. The aim of the conferences is to strengthen cooperation of the countries in the region and to strengthen partnership ties between all parties working for the development of the Carpathians and the whole Central and Eastern Europe. Conferences and discussion meetings "Carpathian Europe" are organized under the patronage of the Speaker of the Sejm, Mr. Marek Kuchciński.
