The modernization of the E30 line between Krakow and Rzeszow is an important investment of the PKP PLK in the Podkarpacie region. On this route, trains can travel at 160 km/h, travel time has already been shortened by more than an hour, and travelers can use new platforms with a passenger information system. In 2016-2017, PLK will complete the modernisation of the E30 line between Ropczyce and Sędziszów, and by 2018 travellers will be able to enjoy even better travelling conditions and better connections between Rzeszów and the state border.

Faster on trunk and local lines

- Passengers will travel more comfortably between Rzeszów and Ocice, on the route Debica - Padew, Boguchwała - Czudec, Jasło - Nowy Zagórz, and on line E30 from Kraków to Rzeszów. The modernized station in Rzeszów will create comfortable service conditions in the capital of the region. Thanks to investments within the Eastern Main Line, Podkarpacie will also gain more convenient connections with voivodeship cities - said Ireneusz Merchel, president of PKP PLK

For the residents of the voivodship and those travelling by train in the region, the work will result in shorter journeys and better service at stations and stops. Travel time between Rzeszów and Krosno will be shortened by approximately 40 minutes (from approximately 2 hours to approximately 1h 20 min). Journeys from Rzeszów to Przemyśl will be shorter by approximately 25 minutes. Thanks to the revitalisation of the line no. 108 on the Jasło - Nowy Zagórz section, the train journey from Jasło to Nowy Zagórz will be shorter by approximately 20 minutes. The fastest trains between Rzeszów and Kraków will take about 1h 45 min (currently over 2h). Modernisation of the railroad network and shortening of the travel time on the Lublin - Stalowa Wola section will allow better connections from Lublin to Rzeszów - shortening the travel time by about 20 minutes. Thanks to electrification of sections Lublin - Stalowa Wola and Ocice - Rzeszów it will be possible to run electric trains.

The most important railroad projects for Podkarpacie

- The railroad in Podkarpacie is becoming more and more popular. Investments implemented by PKP PLK. will affect the attractiveness of the region, providing greater opportunities for economic development and more favourable conditions for the development of tourism. The modernized and new railroad infrastructure will allow for the creation of a real alternative to cars and the construction of integrated transfer centers," said Witold Lechowski, Deputy Governor of Podkarpackie.

On the territory of Podkarpackie voivodeship the works will be conducted on railroad lines: Lublin - Stalowa Wola Rozwadów, Stalowa Wola - Tarnobrzeg/Sandomierz - Ocice/Padew and Ocice - Rzeszów. The National Railway Programme in the Podkarpackie Region provides for the implementation of 12 projects worth almost PLN 1.5 billion on the basic lists. In addition, the reserve list includes 7 items worth over PLN 930 million, which gives a total of 19 projects worth almost PLN 2.4 billion.
