\nThe Sejm amended the Law on the Institute of National Remembrance<\/strong><\/u>. The amendment repeals the article providing for criminal liability for attributing to the Polish nation or state responsibility for, among other things, the crimes of the Third German Reich. According to the government, which submitted the bill to the Sejm as a matter of urgency,\u00a0A more effective way to protect the reputation of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Nation will be to use civil law tools<\/strong><\/u>.<\/p>\n
I Readings<\/strong> Amendments to the Law on Waste\u00a0are intended to help solve the problem of waste abandonment by waste managers in places not intended for this purpose<\/strong><\/u>. The project is a legislative response to the recently intensified phenomenon of fires at places of storage or dumping of waste. One of the solutions is to impose on companies operating in this industryobligation to have adequate safeguards<\/strong><\/u>\u00a0for the costs of removal and management of abandoned waste. Another significant change is the introduction of a requirement to own (or hold in perpetual usufruct) land on which, among other things, hazardous waste collection will be carried out. The government also proposes that\u00a0waste storage areas are monitored<\/strong><\/u>. The bill was referred to the Committee on Environment, Natural Resources and Forestry for further work.<\/p>\n The amendment to the IO\u015a Act increases the environmental safety of citizens by providing\u00a0a stable system of financing research and evaluation of the state of the environment<\/strong><\/u>\u00a0and increasing the competitiveness of enterprises through\u00a0elimination of the grey market in waste management<\/strong><\/u>. The bill strengthens the inspection activities of the Inspectorate by, among other things, allowing nationwide inspections initiated by the Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection. The bill will now be discussed by the Committee on Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry.<\/p>\n The deputies also started working on a draft law on special solutions for Ostrowice municipality in Zachodniopomorskie province.\u00a0It is a response to the extremely difficult financial situation of the municipality<\/strong><\/u>. It creates a legal basis for its liquidation and incorporation into neighboring municipalities without their bearing the burden of repaying the liabilities of the liquidated unit. \nThe Sejm considered two government bills:\u00a0Amendments to the Act on Waste and the Act on Environmental Protection Inspection<\/strong><\/u>. Both submissions were declared urgent by the government, which meant a faster mode of work in the Sejm, shortening to 14 days the deadline for consideration by the Senate and to 7 days the deadline for signing the bills by the President.<\/p>\n
