During the meeting, the topic of sustainable development of the European Union - diverse countries with equal rights - was discussed. The Marshal of the Sejm stressed the need for a reform of the judiciary in Poland, following the example of the Western European countries, and the need for a better flow of information, since it is mainly due to disinformation that the state of the rule of law in Poland is wrongly assessed.<\/p>\n

The Speaker also stressed the need to intensify contacts between parliaments, also by including Austria in the format of the Visegrad Group.<\/p>\n

The Austrian ambassador argued for strong support for Central and Eastern European countries and convergent perceptions with Poland on issues such as migration. He announced the establishment of a friendship group with Poland in the Austrian Parliament for March 2018.<\/p>\n
