The radical opposition groups crossed the line, violated the Sejm's Rules of Procedure and the Penal Code; I believe that the prosecutor's office should ex officio analyze the behavior of these deputies and initiate formal steps,\" said Sejm Speaker Marek Kuchcinski during an interview on TVP Info.<\/p>\n

Asked about the current situation in the Sejm, he said: - I imagine a normal opposition that uses democratic methods, that obeys the internal regulations, the Sejm's Rules of Procedure, and operates in this way. This is how the Law and Justice party has operated for the last eight years, we have been an opposition treated very inelegantly.<\/p>\n

- In this situation,\" said the Speaker of the Sejm, \"I believe that these radical opposition groups, crossed the line, violated the Rules of the Sejm, as well as the Criminal Code. This is a dilemma - whether the Chancellery of the Sejm, the Speaker of the Sejm should officially apply to the prosecutor's office in this case. So far, as I recall, there has been no such action in any term. I would not like to set a precedent. The matter is, in my opinion, open. I believe that the prosecutor's office, ex officio, should analyze this behavior of these MPs and initiate formal steps.<\/p>\n

- From a formal point of view, the previous session of the Diet has ended. The laws have been passed. On Wednesday, we will begin the next, session of the Sejm. There is no formal basis for challenging this decision.<\/p>\n

The Speaker of the Sejm, asked by Editor Skowronski whether he had considered the use of the Marshal Guard on December 16, said: - I had this possibility in my mind. I also had in my mind a substitute alternative - a less emotional one. I moved the deliberations to another hall.<\/p>\n

- As for journalists, there were proposals that were forwarded to the journalistic community. And we began consultative work on a project to organize, to civilize the presence and work of journalists. [The opposition's actions] were elements of a big action against the parliamentary majority. My intention was to bring them up to European standards. If some journalists follow an MP all the way to the toilet, is that fair, civilized? If journalists stumble, trample, is that civilized work? I would prefer that politicians are not asked in the corridor, but in a specially designated place The point is that there should be no arbitrariness and a certain fairness. In the UK, there is no hydepark in parliament. I hope that the MPs who have occupied the plenary hall so far will abandon this form of protest; I appeal to them to leave the Sejm and allow the hall to be prepared for deliberations. I hope that the deputies who have been occupying the plenary hall so far, blocking the work of the Sejm, will give up this form of protest, as it is an unlawful and illegal protest,\" said Speaker Kuchcinski.<\/p>\n
