The Speaker of the Sejm presented the new members of the State Tribunal with their appointment letters

Prof. Czesław Kłak and Maciej Zaborowski, who received positive opinions from the Sejm Justice and Human Rights Committee, were elected by an absolute majority of votes in the presence of at least half of the statutory number of deputies. On June 5, Marek Kuchciński, the Marshal of the Sejm, handed in the documents appointing the members of the State Tribunal.

Prof. Czeslaw Klak was nominated by the Law and Justice party to replace Jaroslaw Wyrembak, who was elected to the Constitutional Court in January. He is a specialist in the field of criminal law, criminal procedure, criminology, human rights protection and legal aspects of internal security. He is the author of over 140 scientific publications, including two original monographs and scientific articles. Currently, he is the Dean - Director of the College of Law and Security and the Head of the Department of Internal Security Criminology and Criminology at the WSPiA Rzeszów University.

Maciej Zaborowski was appointed in place of Professor Bogusław Banaszak, who died in January.
He is an advocate, mediator and social activist. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw. He is also a graduate of postgraduate studies of Intellectual Property Law at Warsaw University and Evidence Law at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University. He also graduated from Center for American Law Studies and Leadership Academy for Poland. Currently he is in the process of writing his PhD thesis on criminal law.
